College Scholarships

The Good Samaritan Foundation Scholarship program provides financial assistance for highly motivated and academically strong college students from minority communities.

The scholarship is privately funded and dedicated to assisting minority and low- and moderate-income (LMI) college students to complete their higher education. Financial assistance is for education-related expenses such as tuition, books, supplies, and other necessities that help the student remain in school. Wrap-around services are also available for families facing hardship due to supporting a college student.

We are currently supporting 60 students through our scholarship program. Our scholarship is unique because the recipients are asked to volunteer at the Rose Park Neighborhood Center for at least 10 hours per semester. This is a great benefit to the neighborhood center and community members, and provides an amazing opportunity for students to give back through volunteer efforts.

Scholarship Qualifications:

  • Must be residing on the west side of Salt Lake City (i.e. Rose Park, Glendale, Fair Park, West Pointe, Poplar Grove, etc.)
  • Accepted and/or attending a state college or university such as Salt Lake Community College, University of Utah, or Ensign College.
  • Remain in good standing and make satisfactory progress towards a certificate or bachelor’s degree.
  • Willing to volunteer at Rose Park Neighborhood Center for 10 hours per semester.
  • Open to citizens, residents, documented and undocumented students (with or without DACA). Immigration status is not considered when awarding scholarships.
